3 African countries whose citizens may qualify for UK child benefit

Moving to the UK from an African country does not automatically make someone eligible for Child Benefit, as applicants generally need to meet specific residence and immigration requirements.

However, UK rules provide exceptions for nationals of certain countries. Three African countries whose citizens may have a route to claiming Child Benefit under specific conditions are Morocco, Tunisia and Mauritius.

1. Morocco

2. Tunisia

Being a citizen of any of these three countries does not automatically guarantee Child Benefit. Applicants generally need to demonstrate that the UK is their main home and that they have the right to reside.
